Pug Ryan’s – The Dillon Dam’s Brewery

This Dillon CO Brewery was started with the goal of producing a range of beers made with the best quality ingredients. Their wide range of micro-brews pleases novice and avid beer enthusiasts. Pug’s beer is sold in cans in select Colorado stores. With the expansion of brewing operations, Pug Ryan’s will be able to make their brews available to more people. Pug Ryan’s prefers to can their beer as cans are portable and with Colorado being well known for its outdoor locations and for the great adventure sporting events all over the state the decision to can their beers was easy for Pug Ryan’s. Mainly, beers in cans remains fresher longer and as cans are more durable when carried around in backpacks by campers. Pug Ryan’s has won more than 18 Beer competitions and includes Gold and Silver medals.

Something’s always brewing at Pugs! In 2011 we started expanding the restaurant and brewing operations. Construction should be finished by summer 2012; come on by and take a look at how things are going.

Pug’s Steakhouse serves some of the best food among Dillon restaurants. While the menu features some of the best pub style food there is also a carefully planned children’s. A real fireplace for winter evenings, fresh seafood menus, warm and friendly service all combine to make Pub Ryan’s the popular place that it is.  For more information, visit Pug’s only at www.PugRyans.com.

Pug’s Back to School Report – Summer 2011

As kids head back to school in Dillon CO, we here at Pug Ryan’s are happy to report what we did over the summer, and man, was it awesome:

Festivals! We lifted a pint (and had our pints lifted) at the Manitou Springs Craft Lager Festival, the Salida Brew Fest, and the North American Brewer’s Association Beer Awards. We even came home with a special shiny treat as our Scottish Ale once again won the silver medal from the NABA.

Food! We were at the Krystal 93 BBQ at the Summit, one of the sauciest events of summer. We got to hang out with 25,000 of our closest friends, and merriment was in ample supply.

Fun! Life at Pug Ryan’s is always fun, but we  also happily paired our beer with the Summit Bluegrass and Blues festival, the concerts series at the Dillon Amphitheater and supporting the Dillon Rangers Trail Day. Not to mention the great time we had as Dillon hosted the annual Dillon Open Regatta.

And you? Why not come enjoy the fun with us at Pug Ryan’s soon? We are in the heart of beautiful Dillon CO near the Dillon Dam.

Come for the Winters, Stay for the Summers

I’m reminded of the old saying about Summit County, “I came for the winters, but stayed for the summers.” So true this year!  We had over 500 inches of snow during the 2010-2011 winter season, making far beyond-awesome skiing and riding. And after all that fun, we were ready when Spring poked her head out and the wildflowers began to appear in June. Biking, sailing, hiking, and opening the Tiki Bar at the Lake Dillon Marina were just a little more special this year after all the snow. Nothing says amazing like getting off the mountain bike at Pug’s with good friends, excellent food, and a cold Scottish Ale.

Summit County Living at its Finest

The view from the Tiki Bar today can’t be beat – in the distance, the majestic Ten Mile and Gore mountain ranges rise against a clear blue sky. Up close, the view is even better, as I’m surrounded by smiling, happy people and drinking some the precious few remaining pints of our Helles Bock.  Dave, our brew master, worked 17 hours on a double mash process, than let the beer lager for 53 days, and you can taste the quality. The people here are from across the world – a Dutch couple on vacation are my new friends, and I had my last pint with an Irish gentleman.  Life is good Pug Ryan’s in Dillon Colorado!
